When the name Corsair was heard, whispered in backrooms and on the street, the people knew to lock their doors and windows until the owner of that name left port. They knew the stories of his infamous raids on ships and coastal towns weren't just tales to keep children on the straight and narrow. They were true.

Ruthless and cunning was heard the most while others tossed in dastardly and a committer of some unspeakable atrocities.

But even the worst thing can, sometimes, surprise you.

It appeared he liked old people. His generosity toward them included finding homes for them and paying in full. He then warned everyone that he would be back to check on them and they'd better be where he'd left them.

It was hard to fathom that this wretched piece of flesh, perhaps, wasn't rotten all the way to the core. But no one was going to say that to him.

Not a one.
