Corporal Vance and Private Jenkins trudged across the windswept highland plain, completely cut off from their unit. As they crested a hill, they froze. Towering in the distance was a colossal, stone-skinned creature—its massive head tilted, tail swishing. It looked disturbingly... like a giant puppy.
"Don't. Move," Vance whispered.
Jenkins swallowed hard, glancing nervously at the thing. "Puppies freak me out, man. It’s wagging its tail! Why is it wagging its tail?"
"Shut up. Maybe if we don't look at it, it'll leave us alone," Vance muttered, slowly edging sideways.
Jenkins’ eyes darted back. The creature had taken a few steps toward them, its stony eyes wide and curious. "Vance, it's following us. It thinks we’re... taking it home!"
Behind them, the titan’s tail thudded against the ground, as if excited to play.
"Vance — Ruuuuun!"
"Jenkins — Remember I said I'd quit?! Well id love too but you never say a word about how we're running from a giant puppy while our units out there

They are lucky to be wearing armor that they can run in. This story reminded me of an episode from my childhood, when a neighbor who owned a Caucasian sheepdog let her out for a walk in the snowy fields, and there was me and my dog playing nearby. This huge carcass of a Caucasian sheepdog circled around me and my dog for a long time, trying to find a passage to bite. I was lucky I had my dog with me, otherwise that huge dog the size of a bear would have torn me apart. As far as I remember, it didn't happen that way. The neighbor called his dog back a half hour later.
