Breathe, Paprika. Stay calm. Trust yourself.
She could see him now, standing steady on a cliff edge, his strong presence a beacon of certainty. He had taught her how to climb, how to focus even when fear threatened to overwhelm. He was her guide, pushing her through Paprika's toughest moments.
Paprika clenched her jaw, tucking her arms close as she braced against the rushing wind. She couldn’t stop the fall, but she could control her landing. With every spinning moment, her father’s guidance kept her steady, even as the ground below grew closer.
