Hi hottie. What are you up to outdoors at night? 

Manus moved through the park with slow, deliberate steps, the night pressing close around him. The lamps flickered like they were afraid of the dark themselves. Cold mist curled around his boots as he followed the narrow, forgotten path. He wasn’t wandering; he was hunting for something he couldn’t name yet. Every rustle in the bushes made his shoulders tense for a heartbeat. He knew this place, knew its shadows, knew the corners where the city pretended not to look. His breath hung in the air like a warning. Then he saw it — a figure standing in the filthiest, most abandoned corner of the park. Manus stopped, eyes narrowing, pulse steadying. Whatever he had been searching for had just found him.

Manus pushed deeper into the park, following the narrow dirt trail until it vanished into the undergrowth. The last working lamp behind him flickered out, leaving only the moon to guide his steps. He heard voices—low, tense, almost swallowed by the rustling leaves. Pushing aside a curtain of branches, he spotted two figures crouched in the darkest corner of the bushes, their silhouettes sharp against the faint glow of the night sky. They froze the moment they sensed him, as if the whole scene had been paused mid‑breath. Manus didn’t speak; he simply stood there, broad‑shouldered and unshaken, letting the silence stretch. One of the men shifted nervously, the other straightened as if preparing for something he couldn’t avoid. The air grew thick, heavy with damp earth and unspoken intentions. Manus stepped forward, slow and deliberate, making sure they saw every inch of him. And in that cramped, filthy corner of the park, all three understood that the night had just taken a turn.
