Wonderful.  And he’s writing by hand, a real manuscript!  Back in the day, that was a key element in my lectures, telling the wannabes that writing longhand was key to good writing.  The ones who insisted that it took too long, that I was a Luddite, yadda,  yadda, we’re told that they shouldn’t bother submitting their manuscripts to me.

So you taught writing, that's interesting! Yes I think you're right. I tried writing short stories and poetry a long time ago. The best ideas (and the best formulations) came to me when I was in contact with reality (on the train, visiting a castle, listening to people tell their stories,...). Never in front of a computer.

Here, it is Franz Kafka who is represented. My favorite author because he gave me back the taste for reading once school was over.

I was a book editor, actually, but I was on the lecture tour, schools, conferences, etc. it’s not only ideas, though, we stop to think and choose our language more carefully, rather then fingers flying…there’s no delete key.
