L-Bar-C Ranch: "The Blob" was my favorite activity
L-Bar-C is a Christian camp run by KCYFC (Kansas City Youth for Christ - Now called Youthfront) It is a weeklong experience filled with guest speakers, Bible studies, Fellowship exercises, and loads of free time for activities like horseback riding, kayaking, arts and crafts, hiking and ranch hand education experiences. My family was too poor to send me to an excellent camp such as this, but in 1991 Vicky Hartzler (who was one of my favorite teachers and mentors) paid for me to go and have this wonderful experience. Mrs. Hartzler later became a House Representative for the 4th district in Missouri from 2011-2023
