Due to the premium of space aboard a space station, not all quarters have their own bathing facilities. All have at least a small sink and toilet in a "fresher", but most don't have their own shower facilities. In such cases communal showers and locker rooms are available. These come in three flavors typically, with the basic versions of all three available for free, only requiring the scanning of the person's station identification card. The three variants are male, female, and co-ed for those who don't mind showering and grooming with the opposite sex. So called luxury facilities are also available at a modest cost, these facilities often include access to a barber, massage therapist, hot tubs, and spas as part of their amenities. Often the luxury facilities will give discounts to the station's inhabitants, while charging higher prices to transients and tourists.
