Henriette Petit (1894–1983) was a Chilean painter and a co-founder of the avant-garde Grupo Montparnasse. Born Ana Enriqueta Petit Marfan in Santiago, she began her artistic journey under the mentorship of Juan Francisco González. Her studies at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in 1914 laid the foundation for her artistic career. Petit's exposure to European art movements during her travels to Paris between 1920 and 1921, where she studied with sculptor Antoine Bourdelle, significantly influenced her work. Upon returning to Chile, she played a pivotal role in introducing Post-Impressionism and Fauvism to the Chilean art scene through her involvement with Grupo Montparnasse. (OpenAI, 2025)
