It makes me wonder what 15 and 14 then looked like compared to 15 and 14 now

I think the only artists commissioned to paint them were told to make them look 20. They would have probably looked the same as now, like middle schoolers. Part of royal weddings in Europe at the time was that on the 2nd day of the celebrations there would be a blessing of the bed. A bishop presided in Marie's bedroom where the entire Court gathered. After blessing, the whole group would watch as the bride and groom consumated the marriage. It didn't work with those two..age I guess but who knows?

The last part of Louis 16 is that when he was beheaded the crown jewels were taken out of the crown and kept for 100 years, many being cut. The huge blue crown diamond was eventually purchased by a rich British shop keeper who eventually gave it to his son who worked with him in the shop. The son fell in love with a woman named Kate in the shop and they eloped on the Titanic. He gave the diamond to her at sea but both he and she died during the sinking along with the diamond. So, it's fun to think about Kate Winslet as Rose with the blue diamond in James Cameron's Titanic. All because Louis 16 was a creep and caused the French Revolution which took his head and crown with the blue diamond...
