...and smoke elemental. If you read about industrial revolution it's mostly a story of human ingenuity, lack of regulations, poverty, and pollution. Rivers made of toxic sludge and barely breathable air. It actually continued all the way to the second half of the twentieth century in some places with a large number of factories being now long closed but still held accountable to localised contamination way above the scale.
