One of the more interesting legends from Japanese folklore, a Yuki-onna was something similar to a snow vampire or spirit praying on those lost in the mountains during winter. Stories about her originated from the Muromachi period (first described by a poet named Sลgi). Since then she appeared all over Japan, alwayes slightly changing her motivation or powers to suit the message of the story but the one I prefer the most is the one when she fallen in love with a simple woodcuter and tried to live a normal life. In the modern day she's a very popular in Japanese literature, films and animation.
A hyperdetailed depiction of a Yuki-onna gazing at her reflection in a frozen lake. The image features a creepy fantasy forest, a full moon, and ominous ice blue flowers in a realistic drawing style.
