Blue Moon Water Lilies

For “Something Blue” (DC #955), I had no idea what to make, so I searched for anything tagged “blue” and pulled an image out of my archive. "Blue Moon Water Lilies" was one of several made during a brief water lily fad that I archived to give attention to at some later point.

Watching the score throughout the day, I was surprised and confused. Why was something archived months before getting so much love?

After the challenge ended, the flood of comments revealed why. The blueness of the image was obviously a hit, but what universally drew others in was the serenity. We all need that slice of zen at times, and this happened to be one of those moments. I took a closer look at the image, finally appreciating the calm beauty it portrays.
