Land of my ancestors. Whenever I'd visit Scotland as a child there was a "kiltie" - a man in traditional Scottish dress - who played the bagpipes at the border, so for me the land and the kiltie and the music of the pipes around the mountains formed one identity that was quintessentially Scotland.

I am not a scotsman, but I do would love to visit the Highlands some day. The first thing that came to my mind, when a saw this, were some well known lyrics: By yon bonnie banks, and by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond... Although of course I am not sure, which Loch this is...
