I'm honestly too tired to think of a backstory for these two 😅. However! I can see that Eivor is very reluctant to let her husband, Narfi, go off to some distant land to raid with the chance of never seeing him again despite how common it was during that time period.

Eivor stifled her tears, she had wept almost all night in her husband's embrace. Narfi tried to be strong with her but he too felt the ache of knowing that he was leaving for another raid. He had barely returned from plundering a land called England, with riches and treasure that would have improved their life greatly.
Eivor longed to go as his shield maiden, but she had children to care for and in truth was not made for the rough sea voyage. The other Vikings waited, quietly by the ships, knowing that their friend was not in the mood to be heckled. His huge body and mighty endurance were no match for his woman.
A few moments passed, and the call began, a Viking song of honour and triumph praising the gods and the hailing Valhalla. The two lovers parted and the ships sailed away to the sounds of songs and oars.
Eivor ran to the top of a hill overlooking the fjord, watching the ships vanish into the horizon, tears filling her eyes and sorrow in her heart.
