Quand j'étais jeune, j'achetais tous les albums de Baez et j'adorais écouter les chansons, chanter jusqu'à ce que la plupart des chansons soient mémorisées. À l'époque, je possédais une guitare et j'ai acheté le recueil de chansons Baez pour apprendre les accords afin de pouvoir jouer en chantant. Des petits enfants du quartier venaient me demander de jouer et de chanter pour eux. Je suis toujours gêné de chanter si les autres m'écoutent même si j'ai une plutôt bonne voix. Mais je ne me suis jamais senti inhibé en présence d'enfants. J'ai chanté pour mes fils depuis leur enfance jusqu'à la fin de leur adolescence. C’est quelque chose dont ils se souviennent avec tendresse.

Wouah ! Et c’est dingue. Moi aussi j’ai appris la guitare classique puis le folk Song avec Joan Baez puis Johny Mitchell. Mais je suis trop timide. Je jouais parfois pour les amies. Le problème c’est que mon mari était un très grand guitariste de Jazz, très connu en Belgique. Il faisait des prouesses et moi avec ma dizaines d’accords, je me cachais. Puis je me suis mise à la peinture ou j’étais meilleure que lui . Ouf !
