I saw this type of Sailboat with underwater Wings in Aukland in New Zealand. It´s very close to Your Design.
Owner it´s "Emirates Airlines". This Sailingboat It´s strong and with very fragile Profiles, clever Structure, fantastic Engineering all very lightweight. Answer is: sailing and flying. Maybe like Space Technology.
I didn´t have Chance to be on this Boat.
