Also spelled Amanirena, was queen regnant of the Kingdom of Kush from mid to late 1st century BCE, She is known for invading Roman occupied Egypt and successfully negotiating the end of Roman retaliation, retaining Kushite independence. Amerinas title was "qore and kandake" suggesting she was a ruling queen. Also notable for the "Meroë Head", that is a head of a Caesar Augustus statue, who was buried by orders of Amanirenas in beneath the steps of the temple of Meroë (capital of the Kingdom of Kush) so every who pass by will step the head of Augustus. That made a great peservation of that statue piece throughout centuries to modern day, currently at the British Museum.
