Frances Brundage (Frances Isabelle Lockwood Brundage; 1854 – 1937) was an illustrator from the USA. She was renowned for her depictions of charming and endearing children on postcards, calendars, and other ephemera published by various publishers. Her art style, epitomising the USA culture ca. 1900, was characterised by wide-eyed Victorian children. Although her work is often compared to that of her contemporaries like Maud Humphrey and Ida Waugh, Brundage’s illustrations are most notable for their large eyes. She worked extensively with chromolithography, a printing technique that was well-suited to her style. Despite the lack of formal education, she received art training from her father, Rembrandt Lockwood.
