Thank you!  These are great.  A hike I loved was to start at Kirstenbosch (botanic garden), climb Skeleton Gorge ("Skellies") walk across the mesa, and then get a ride down on the cable-car.  This route is called "Smuts track", named after General Jan Smuts who served two terms as Prime Minister of the then Union of South Africa, most notably during the Second World War.  According to stories, it was apparently part of his regular exercise routine while Parliament was in session in Cape Town.  Another favourite dog-walking trail of mine was on his farm near Pretoria.
