Michel Ocelot (1943 - ) is a French writer, designer, storyboard artist and director of animated films and television programs. He is also a former president of the International Animated Film Association. He is best known for his 1998 debut feature Kirikou and the Sorceress.
His Εuvre is characterised by a variety of animation techniques, typically in a different medium for each new project, but almost exclusively within the genres of fairy tales and fairytale fantasy. The stories are often told in a silhouette or shadow puppet style against vividly coloured backgrounds.
A charming image of a cat relaxing on a pillow amidst a floral setting. The illustration evokes the style of classic animation, with soft lighting and gentle colors.
