One of a whole passel of similar images I based on a photo of a beautiful young black woman in a bikini.
Interestingly, all but one came out white on the other end.
Much ado has been made about unnoticed racial bias in the data fed into these gargantuan machine learning models. I’ve found that initiation images of black folks almost invariably turn out white unless specifically prompted otherwise using various versions of stable diff.
OpenAI found this in Dalle-2 and implemented a “proprietary fix” which turned out to be appending the words for minority groups to prompts, a clumsy and hamfisted fail if there ever was one. Had they been up-front about the nature of the “fix” nobody would have minded but they claimed it was some advanced tech solution to solve all bias in these datasets!
Anyway, my initiation model is very pretty as is the output of the algorithm - I just thought this was worth pointing out so folks can prompt around this problem until a real solution exists.
A digital rendering of a woman with biomechanical augmentations. This art piece blends organic forms with intricate mechanical details, reminiscent of surrealist sculpture.
