Kinact festival drums

The Kinact Festival in Kinshasa is an itinerant urban cultural event founded in 2015 by Eddy Ekete and Aude Bertrand. It aims to raise awareness among the citizens of Kinshasa about various social challenges through art, street performances, workshops for children, and social criticism. The festival focuses on themes such as the environment, healthcare, superstition, violence, African identity, and survival struggles. Artists participating in the festival use recycled materials found in the city to create their works, highlighting the urgent need for recycling in Kinshasa. The festival serves as a platform for African and European artists to engage with the local community and address critical issues through their art.
