If you are a Tolkien fan, you likely know that, upon assuming his rule of Gondor and Arnor as the King Elessar, Aragorn wed the elf-maid Arwen Undomiel. Tolkien wrote that they had a son together, Eldarion, who would succeed his father and become as the second ruler of the reunited kingdom in the Fourth Age. Tolkien also wrote of Arwen having daughters, but as far as I know their names were never mentioned.
This is my idea of one of Aragorn and Arwen’s daughters, perhaps at an estate somewhere in Gondor. I have always imagined that Gondor south of the White Mountains must have been something like the south of France or Italy in medieval times…so, here it is.
By the way, I’m aware that sunflowers are not native to the Old World, but since Tolkien saw fit to include tobacco (also a New World plant) in his stories, I’m sure Gondor could have had sunflowers!
A striking picture of a beautiful woman in a medieval village surrounded by sunflowers. The image evokes the styles of pre-Raphaelite paintings, with intricate details rendered in ink.
