The Church was loathe to give ground on the issue of flight, but were forced to see the wisdom in having fliers of their own, and built the most advanced craft of the time for a decade. The Interceptor had no weapons but could drop nets. Most, however, were used to survey the continents of Portus for illegal airstrips, unregistered construction of vessels, and other surveillance activity.

Mercenary General Pakit acquired an intact interceptor in 3619 and flew it to protect the first space flight of Swish Wyral, shredding the canvas floor with his toe claws to urinate in the eye of the living airship that shot down the first test filght, and Pakit's best friend.
