In the First Panarii Temple of Caladon, you meet Gunther Willhelm, the learned Church Historian. He is often found poring over ancient volumes and pointing out subtle inconsistencies in the Archaeon, the faith’s sacred scripture. It was he who first suggested that the word Panarii, meaning “light-servant,” may derive from the older elven term Pan-R’nes, or “defenders of the gate.

Gunther also sheds light on Nasrudin’s hidden path to Thanatos, based on cryptic inscriptions found on the sarcophagus lid: words meaning “opposite” and “truth.” His scholarly deductions open a doorway to one of Arcanum’s greatest mysteries—the return of a legend beyond the sea.
