Today's word was "MOIST", rhymes with hoist and joist. Slightly damp, yet never wet. Limp and lifeless, lettuce, lattice, haggis, backless, baseless, faceless, facelift needed! Melon, seeded!
Mr. Pointing, the new Englitch teaching was a poet too. Also, as well as, besides. The seaside. He liked a raspberry donut, but never at his desk. There's a thin line between a gobful of jam and a teacher one looks up to. Said nobody, ever! 🍓

I purposely didn't sit my English Literature exam at high school. The school never wrote to my parents and I was never asked why I didn't attend the "important" exam. I'd never been a rebel at school and I didn't advertise the fact to anyone that I wasn't going to sit the exam. I just walked out of school, went home and sort of waited for the phone call or letter to arrive within days. I was adept at impersonating my mother's telephone voice and handwriting. My skills were never called upon. Just saying!
