Oh yes, and the female drow (their society was strongly matriarchal) in black leather with whips was a touch OTT (Over The Top), in my opinion.
Drizzt was a character in a D&D book called IIRC 'Stream of Silver'. He proved so popular he had his own series. The first one or two I thought were OK, but after that it was rather soap-operaish and I lost interest. D&D fandom was divided, the gushing fan-boys thought he was the best thing since sliced bread while others thought he was done to death.
... surely not Drizzt and his panther?
