Jareth’s smile widened. “Oh, you say that now, boy. But we’ll see.” He shifted slightly, settling into the bench as if preparing for something grand. “It’s a story about a group of adventurers, long ago. People who went looking for something…lost, forgotten. And what they found – well, that’s the part no one forgets.”

Mae’s eyes were wide now. “What did they find?”

Jareth leaned in, his voice dropping to a hushed tone. “A place. An island…hidden from the rest of the world. A place that no map could ever lead you to. They called it the Lost Isle.”

The kids were silent now, hanging on his every word.

Being able to recognise signs of burnout are essential for protecting mental health. I am just really bad at it 🤣

Social burnout can be closely related to cPTSD because individuals with cPTSD often have heightened sensitivity to stress and overstimulation. Engaging in social interactions, especially those that require a lot of emotional energy, can trigger feelings of overwhelm or anxiety. For those with cPTSD, the act of giving too much of themselves can lead to a deep sense of depletion, as it taps into their emotional reserves. This can exacerbate symptoms like exhaustion, irritability, and a feeling of being disconnected or drained, making it harder to recover from social situations without ample time to recharge.
