Iris sat outside where the rain felt icy and soaked her to the bone, mirroring the chill that had settled in her heart. Below, the town lights blurred into a watercolor painting, offering a strange detachment from the turmoil within her. Taro's secret, the glint of that strange pendant – it gnawed at her.

Then, a memory flickered, a forgotten detail from an old folktale her grandmother used to tell. A hidden mountain temple, guarded by treacherous paths and shrouded in mist, was said to hold a collection of… ornately carved pendants, each imbued with a mysterious power.

A jolt shot through Iris. Could the pendant be a key? A key to what, she didn't know, but a lead nonetheless.
