A fel wind blew into town one night and with it did the adults take fright. For what lurked at the edge of light, wore armor like a Knight. 

However, he did not trod, with loud iron boot shod. He drifted to and fro, sewing chaos where he did go. 

To the children brave and haughty, he bestowed treats to make them naughty. To those fearful and quiet, he gave the power to hide it. To those filled with angre and pain, he gave golden rain. To those somber and sad, he gave reason to he glad.

To the adults, their youth almost through he gave them a heady brew. To the rest, he took to jest. 

A broken wagon wheel; a horse without a shoe; foxes in a hen house; sheep out to pasture; doors unlocked and fires lit in houses to keep people warm.

The next day the village burned and people mourned save the children who were not to be found.
