The Trust controls this city. Anubis continued. They suppress your people and prosecute everyone who does not follow their endless list of rules and regulations. People are abducted in the streets and just vanish. Nobody dares to question these incidents because the Trust controls public opinion. As soon as an incident draws too much attention there is another news story about how they have uncovered another subversive rebel network.

After the... crisis a hundred years ago, the changes were subtle. They began to notice that resources were getting scarce, so they turned to technology to help them. For every new problem that arose they developed new technology. They never questioned themselves but kept on developing. Progress, they called it. The Trust funded much of the necessary research in exchange for a part of the profit - sometimes they would just collect and process data. That's when the Trust became indispensable.
