Dorm Room Poem

I was chilling alone in the college dorm room

Weary of doing nothing in a warm afternoon

When a knock on the door came just out of the blue

I opened yawning, and there were you

You'd forgotten your kettle, wasn't that your slick cue?

While holding fancy coffe teabags just for the sake of the two

"If your don't mind", said I, "tea for me instead"

And waved you to get comfy by sitting on bed

"Into boxing?", you asked, and reached for the gloves

"Never seen one of these, at least from this close"

You felt the inside lining and tapped them together

As tea and coffee mingled with the scent of the leather

"Why the second pair?", you asked with a blush

"One for bagwork, one for sparring", I explained in a rash

"Since you brought coffee teabags and put the bag ones,

"Let me slip those for sparring and show you the stance"

You on your Air Jordans and me on my socks

Were the same height: a jockey and a jock

With a happy giggle you stepped in the dance,
