"You are so dear, so wonderful. I think of you all day long, and miss your grace, your boyish beauty, the bright sword-play of your wit, the delicate fancy of your genius, so surprising always in its sudden swallow-flights towards north and south, towards sun and moon — and, above all, yourself."

quote from Oscar's letter from 1891

Bosie, how sweet... and tragic that his father was such a beastly man, if we can call him a man at all. He quite resembles the hind quarter of a mule if one were to ask me. Alfred's first love was something of a tragic figure as well. An intellectual, I didn't care for him nearly as much as Oscar before his change of careers busting rocks. The Germans had the gays breaking rocks, too. I've broken apart a few trying to place myself in their unfortunate circumstances, but as a free man, it ended in a trivial waste of energy. (Great photo, Sweet William.)
