Character Spotlight: Deveraux Vidal

The main antagonist of act 12. Title: The Night’s Child.

Deveraux’s past is mysterious and tragic, according to him. His early life began in France, and he has stayed In France for the vast majority of his life. Although his exact origins are unknown, he claims to have been born to a wealthy aristocratic family over 500 years ago. This makes him one of the oldest characters in the timeline.

His curse is unique, and was placed on him by the Spirit of Chaos, Breno as the third disciple of Erebus. He has been keeping tabs on her ever since. He eventually becomes determined to break his curse, with proper convincing from Martine, and personally goes after Breno as his “cure” is found in the same person who caused his pain.

He inspired the vampire myth in the timeline, taking multiple roles throughout history. Although he is not actually affected by garlic or silver he is weak towards sunlight, and does have to consume blood.

He represents Martine’s own cursed nature.
