Hyun-ah: (softly) “Maybe not someone... but you. You never gave up.”

Little Alex: (grins) “We make a pretty good team, don’t we?”

Hyun-ah: (smirks) “The best. And hey, once we document this, we’re getting real food. I’m talking ice cream. A whole cake. And a bath that doesn’t involve a river and screaming insects.”

Little Alex: (laughs) “Yes! But first—we write history!”

An additional exchange between Hyun-ah and Little Alex the moment they made the discovery:

Little Alex: (wide-eyed, breathless) “Hyun-ah… we found it. We really found it.”

Hyun-ah: (blinking at the vast ruins) “I… I think I need to sit down. Or scream. Or maybe both.”

Little Alex: (spinning in place, arms out) “It’s more beautiful than I ever imagined. Look at those carvings! That statue—it’s the same symbol from the glowing tablet!”

Hyun-ah: (half-laughing, half-crying) “I’d say I can’t believe it… but after everything we’ve been through—wolves, traps, mystery soup night—I kind of do.”

Little Alex: (reaches out and gently touches a golden mural) “Do you think they knew someone would find it? After all this time?”

We found it.

El Dorado. A real ancient city of gold.. glimmering towers half-swallowed by the jungle, streets lined with stone and shimmering veins of gold beneath the moss. The air itself felt heavy with age and wonder. Ancient carvings covered every surface—stories etched in gold and stone, telling of a civilization that vanished but never truly faded.

Little Alex stood in the center of it all, eyes wide, whispering, “It’s exactly like the legends…” I just nodded, speechless—partly from awe, partly because I’d lost feeling in my legs from climbing that last cliff. Tomorrow, we explore. Tonight, we try to sleep—though I don’t think dreams could top this.

Still can’t believe it… but the light in her eyes makes it feel real. Maybe El Dorado isn’t just gold... it’s wonder, perseverance… and a little girl who believed enough for both of us. 💖
