Originally director Richard Marquand had made some scenes on the side, including a very graphic unscripted sequence how Darth Vader got rid of the Ewoks: by introducing an ever-hungry invasive species of carnivorous plants on Endor's forest moon which exude luring pheromones, the Ewoks can't resist.
George Lucas wasn't amused, but agreed to show this film version to test audiences at a small theater on Sunset Boulevard. As it turned out, the hard core Star Wars fans LOVED these scenes of the Ewoks' demise, as they "likened" the cute fur balls to Sesame Street fodder. Thus, these scenes made too many fans turn to the dark side, rooting for Darth Vader and disliking the Jedis attempting to save the cutie-pies. As George Lucas was already planning to cash-in with Ewok spin-off shows for small children, these beloved scenes had to go and Richard Marquand had to pay himself the cost of filming them. Oh, and this is created for "Wednesday Addams' Take on Cute & Creepy". Was supposed to be NSFW, but the AI wouldn't let me get too nasty with the poor little Ewoks, haha. Next dark & twisted challenge coming up in
The realitity behind this: Many Star Wars fans loathe the Ewoks of course. But this sequence was never filmed.
1: Marquand later claimed in an interview for the magazine "Splatting Image" that filming these disturbing scenes were worth every cent: And watches them every time for therapeutic purposes, after watching the regular movie cut.
How is it even possible, this getting a like already? At the time of this writing, this is in an unvoted challenge, and I didn't publish it.

Haha, so well written, Lupus! π I had a good laugh while reading it, even though I suspected that the story wasn't true. Very nice and the picture is cool too. π
