Weather worn stones sigh
Sun and moon wheel overhead
Whispers of old wars

Loose scree tumbles down
Wind sifts through the battlements
A lonely, dark sleep
Haiku 3
Dull rust patina
Bathed in the palm of twilight
Roots creep over stones
Haiku 4
Dawn's cold shoulder lifts
High over the escarpment
Only silence reigns

Bone lay white and stark
Dust falls from creaking timbers
Battle hyms echo
