Prince Mortimus

The adopted son of King Columba and Prince Consort Roux. Originally a refugee from the Southlands who was orphaned during an outbreak of summerpox in the refugee camps- the sole survivor of his birth family thanks to having inherited Elder mage blood. The King searched far and wide for the child's extended family, but to no avail, and so adopted him as his own son. Mortimus grew to be a charming and social presence at court, and a favorite and confidant of his influential great-aunt, the Princess Ioanna. He also grew to be a skilled swordsman and renowned hunter, unlike his shy and gentle younger brother, the Prince Rickeford. In fact, Mortimus's reputation eventually saw some in the realm seek to place him as the heir to the Kingdom of Iveria- but, as an adopted child, this was not to be.
