The Nightmare can now fully manipulate the dream world and distort reality on a massive scale. It can manipulate the environment at will, creating trap doors, warped corridors, and areas where gravity feels inverted. The creature can also enter the player’s mind, causing hallucinations where objects appear out of place, or walls close in on them. Its presence makes the player’s sleep meter rise faster, especially in areas that feel too safe or familiar.

When the Nightmare spots the player, it doesn’t just chase—it warps the dream into a nightmarish scenario, disorienting the player with flashes of horrific visions and terrifying sounds. The player must rely on the "wake zones" more than ever, but they become less effective as the Nightmare’s presence distorts them.
