For @DeathMelonEater
The humble bunny chow has become almost emblematic of Durban (South Africa). It is a substantial serving of curry ((often vegetable) in a hollowed out half-loaf of bread, usually with grated carrot as a side salad.
One theory of how the name came to be suggests that "bunny" is a corruption of the word "bania" (referring to Indian traders), with chow referring to food -- so literally "food from the Indian corner shop".
Various stories suggest that restaurants licenced to trade in "white" areas under apartheid and therefore unable to serve "non-white" patrons would nonetheless serve curry out of the back door in a half-loaf of bread instead of a plate.
No visit to Durban would be complete without a bunny chow for lunch.
This staged photograph captures a smiling Chow Chow dog, adorned with bunny ears, about to eat a curry-filled bread loaf at a beachside restaurant. The Durban Golden Mile forms a vibrant backdrop.

Thank you so much for playing with me, welcome to the new game:
Now look what you've gone and done! I'm hungry.
If that's mine, quick, stop the chow from drooling on it!
