Mercury Poisoning โ Benign ๐ณ I wonder how much mercury I might've absorbed when young. My parents always used an antiseptic called Mercurochrome, an organomercury. In that form, mercury is far more toxic than elemental silvery mercury. As a little kid, I loved running and frequently fell on the steep hills of the town I lived in as a kid. I remember often seriously scraping my knees raw and would frequently fall on concrete sidewalks, ripping off large scabs from previously unhealed scrapes. I'd scrape my palms badly too as I'd stretch out my hands to break the fall. I'd sit on a chair at home while I'd have Mercurochrome painting on my knees and wrists, yelling from the burning as it was done (likely due to the alcohol). I fell so often that I have lines and marks scarred into ,y knees. Not sure if mercury could've been absorbed that way.
