I'm detecting Metroid Prime 2 influence here. I'll try to use more of that. Nintendo went really hard on this art style in the mid-2000s because it shows up in Zelda: Twilight Princess too, and arguably even Star Fox Assault with the Aparoids.
The spear's alignment is the best it's been so far here. Certain features of the Kolkadan are also improved, notably the tail.
