The bandit's cries were cut short by a magical ice spear but it was too late: they had been seen.
With a gleeful cheer, Luma pushed herself off the cliff, falling through the air without so much as an ounce of grace. Sword at the ready, she landed hard between two bandits, her body quivering as it absorbed the impact. Not skipping a beat, she slashed at the nearest bandit, catching him across his chest and spinning to meet the other in the same motion.
His dark eyes filled with terror, but not because of her. He felt as though an invisible hand had wrapped around his throat, one he could not pry free no matter how hard he struggled.
In a flash of magic fury, Maressa appeared at Luma's side with an annoyed expression. "Must you always charge off on your own?"
Redfang's guttural growls rang out. "Kill the witch!"
