“The Glowbell’s Midnight Waltz”

Every thousand tides, when the moonlight pierces just right through the water’s skin, the Grand Glowbell drifts into Coral Hall for a bioluminescent ball. She twirls with such grace that even the sea cucumbers pause in awe. Each pulse of her jellydress releases tiny notes only plankton can hear—though it’s said if you’re very quiet, you might feel the music in your belly button.

Sir Flouncefin, a rather dashing yellow tang, once asked her for a dance. She agreed—but only if he could count to five without giggling. He never could.
