WfR188: Business as Usual

The Deus Iræ arrived with Kaley a day after Amara started negotiations with Skorosh. The sight of 5th Group's flagship above what was essentially the Clans' capital made the old enemies pause in awe. The times were certainly changing.

Admiral D'Iræ assumed the bridge as the vessel departed the space above Rocktown Skorosh. She saluted her first officer, frowned at the navigator who wasn't Molly (yet), and noting that absolutely nothing had changed, even though outside everything had. She grunted to herself and addressed the helm.

"Take us up, up and out of the field," she said, sounding almost distracted. "I want to sit above things for a bit."

The ship angled 'upward' towards the edge of the field with a chorus of confirmation statements. Calm, competent, and utterly without problem.

'And that will last about another week,' the Admiral thought privately. 'And then what?'
