The Shadow's Dread - Inspired by Lord of the rings

In the foreboding depths of Mirkwood, a colossal, humanoid creature of pure shadow and malice stalks, known as the Shadow's Dread, with a shifting darkness and obsidian-like exoskeleton and eyes aglow with an infernal red light. Its chilling breath extinguishes all light, and it leaves a trail of destruction in its wake. Inspired by the dark worlds of Zha'thik artists such as Marco Bucci, Simon Stalenhag's blend of eerie atmospheric terror, and the highly detailed, intricate meatspace of Ash Thorp, with a color palette reminiscent of a cold, dark winter's night - icy blues and dark greys contrasted with piercing oranges and yellows, illuminated by flickering torches in the hazy air. The level of detail is such that every rock, every twisted branch is photographic and lifelike.
