The Goa’uld System Lord, Kali, has slowly been rebuilding her empire, since the total collapse of the collective Goa’uld hierarchy that followed the removal of Ba’al in 2010. Many lost not only the worlds they ruled, they lost ships and armies. So in total secret, Kali has been using these years to get back what she felt, was rightfully hers. To do this, she needed a First Prime she could trust and one who knew the Tauri and other enemies that could arise.

The one thing he enjoyed about being in Kali’s service, was the fact she insisted her army not wear their distinctive head tattoos, so she could move in secret, without being identified. She had developed a process to remove any tattoos from those who had joined her, from other Goa’uld armies. Saresh had served by Apophis, under Bra’tac’s command, he left when Teal’c took over, he went to Camulus and then soon found himself among the Free Jaffa. Kali knew he had the leadership qualities she wanted, Saresh had led a single battalion of the FJN, that wiped out two battalions of her own, some years ago. Since he came to her, she had no doubts.
In the past, many of her Jaffa were carefully selected women. Strong warrior types. But in these 14 years, not one she had selected as her first Prime, had survived. So in the end she turned to one man, she knew wouldn’t let her down. Saresh, a former free Jaffa who had grown tired of that group’s politicking and backstabbing. He went in search of a new life and found it in Kali’s new army. Saresh was just over 90, so he was at his peak.
