Rare Dog Breeds Tuesday #6: Carolina Dog

A dog descended from travelling dogs to the Georgia-South Carolina border, the Carolina Dog breed is known for its shyness and wariness around strangers. However, once they find a family, they're loyal 'till the very end.

The dog howling in the image is Miles, a young Carolina Dog-Collie mix who is crying for his friend Lassie, who died from unknown causes.

A painter was able to capture his anger at the ignorance of those around him, not paying attention to the loss of a life...
