Despite his father's protests, Haruka couldn't avoid but befriend the Vampire Prince, with whom he shares the same name, Haruka Kuran II, becoming his best friend and the vice president of Night Class when they both enroll Cross Academy. 

Both him and his twin, Jūri, have a particularity caused by their unique genetics. While embracing their Aristocrat Vampire blood, their eyes are purple, like their father's, but when behaving and living as humans, their eye color changes to blue, like their mother's.
