Her clan was burning as she stood on the hilltop gazing back, flames leapt from all the buildings, licking tongues waving from every window and doorway. Her arm was broken from the fall, her mother having shoved her out the window as the rockets whistled toward the compound.
She woke in a sweat, the same dream, every night, since she was 11 years old. She rose and stretched and began her morning Qigong, her motions practiced but fevered witht he fugue of the nightmare.
Soon they would be avenged. She had worked her way up the food chain from street thugs to middle management, now she had the name of her true enemy, her murdered father's brother, Kurogane no Ryu, the Black Steel Dragon of Hokkaido.
She donned her combat armor and got on her motorcycle, speeding along the streets of the prefecture in the quiet of early morning darkness.
